Can Drugs Make You Healthy? ~ The Beacon for June 1, 2012

I’d like to share a startling fact I came across the other day that took me a few weeks to fully comprehend.  There are two different people who both have the exact same blood pressure which is in the healthy range of 120/80 mm Hg.  One is on medication to achieve those reading, the other one isn’t.  Did you know if they both applied for life insurance they would each be offered a different policy?  Life insurance companies, of course, do thousands of dollars in research to know the life expectancies of different groups of people.  These companies know that the medicated people, even if they have normal blood pressure, are not as healthy as someone who has normal blood pressure without medication.

Now on some level this may seem obvious to you.  But if you extrapolate this out over our society, how many times and how many people feel that they are healthy as a result or even healthy with their medication?  The truth is that medication does not make you healthy.  It can however, suppress the symptoms of poor health, it can make life more comfortable and it can prolong life.  However drugs do not make you healthy.  Nothing can replace a healthy life style other than action steps that include a healthy diet, active living, a healthy mindset, and a clear and optimally functioning nerve system.  Nothing created in the lab can do this.  Nothing!

Have a great healthy weekend.
